This policy explains how the Mountain Identifier app and this website handle your information. Mountain Identifier is a camera-based app that identifies mountains and peaks and shows details such as elevation and prominence. We aim to collect only what the app needs to work.

Photos you scan

To identify a mountain, the app processes the photo you take or select. That image is sent to our identification service and analyzed by automated AI models so the app can return the peak's likely name, country, range, and elevation. Photos are used to provide that identification result to you.

Location data

If you allow it, the app may use your device location to improve an identification — for example, to prefer nearby peaks. Location is used to provide the feature and is optional; you can control location access in your device settings.

Account and subscription data

Mountain Identifier offers a paid subscription. Purchases and renewals are handled by the app stores — Apple's App Store and Google Play — under their own terms and payment systems. We do not receive or store your full payment card details; the stores share limited purchase and subscription status so we can unlock premium features and provide support. If the app saves your scan history, that data is stored to provide the feature to you.

Analytics and diagnostics

We use analytics and crash/diagnostic tools to understand how the app and website are used and to fix problems. This may include app and device information and usage events. This website may use privacy-respecting analytics to measure traffic.

Your choices

• You can stop new scans at any time by not taking further photos.
• You can turn off location access for the app in your device settings.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings.
• You can ask us about the data associated with you, or request deletion, by emailing us.

Children

Mountain Identifier is a general-audience reference app and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
